I stayed in the Morgan for a month and it was such a great experience. It’s a quiet apartment and the hosts are fantastic. You’ll be safe and secure here, nestled in the historic city center close to many restaurants, cafes and convenience stores. I felt so peaceful and relaxed in the apartment. A beautiful and quiet building in a perfectly central location, run by kind and caring hosts. Stayed a month in the Morgan suite and had a great time. Especially appreciated the thoughtful details and decorations. The owners Kim and Mike strike a perfect balance: there when you need them, but never intruding. Would 100% stay again. The Morgan Suite at Casa Tierra is relaxed, easy living: fantastic light, spacious and airy with vaulted ceilings. The hosts are welcoming and very responsive. The layout of the Morgan Suite makes it live even larger than it is, plus it’s quiet for sleeping - no street noise. The neighborhood is central to just about everything with an impressive variety of Ecuadorian and international restaurants nearby. Plus it’s a flat walk to most of Cuenca. Mercados and Western style supermarkets are walkable for provisioning.  The cafe out front welcomes Spanish/English intercambios, book club and other community fixtures with a consistently friendly, easygoing staff. The Casa Tierra property itself is secure and the interior courtyard has zen-like comfort with both an indoor section (worked well as a peaceful workspace from time to time) and an outdoor table with a massive umbrella to protect against the UV. Laundry area has new machines which do a nice job efficiently. I stayed here for a month and extended because it’s just a good setting, and having hosts who are plugged into the local community when you have questions is a boon. Although Casa Tierra was a great deal, I still felt like I was treating myself.

My mother, visiting Cuenca, stayed at Casa Tierra for three weeks and was one hundred percent satisfied. The apartment is very elegant, comfortable, cozy, and practical. It comes fully furnished and equipped for living (iron included). Located in the center of Cuenca, everything is close at hand and the city can be explored on foot. The street is very quiet, and the apartment is at the back, in an elegant courtyard with a fountain. Kim and Mike, the owners, live there, which adds an extra level of contact and constant security for the tenant. The price is unbeatable here in Cuenca for this type of stay, if one is looking for comfort and independence outside the typical hotel atmosphere. Ten out of ten.

A Perfect Two‑Month Stay in the Heart of Cuenca! I spent two months in the Morgan Suite at Casa Tierra Cuenca, and it was one of the most enjoyable long‑term stays I’ve had anywhere in the world. The suite sits on the top floor, and the moment you walk in, the large windows create this wonderful open‑air feeling—bright, airy, and connected to the sky in a way that makes the space feel larger than it already is. Despite being in the historic center, the suite is tucked toward the rear of the building, making it remarkably quiet. City noise simply doesn’t reach you. One of my favorite features was the lofted bedroom. It’s the highest point in the entire building, and the window up there looks out over the surrounding rooftops. Waking up to that view each morning felt like a privilege. The building itself is exceptionally well cared for. Michael and Kim, the owners, are warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to keeping Casa Tierra safe, spotless, and welcoming. Their presence adds a sense of comfort and community that you don’t always find in boutique accommodations. And as a bonus, the first-floor houses one of Cuenca’s best cafés—Café de Ñucallacta. Having great coffee, pastries, and local energy just downstairs became part of my daily rhythm. The location couldn’t be better. Casa Tierra Cuenca sits right in the heart of the historic district, an easy and enjoyable walk to Parque Calderón and countless restaurants, museums, and architectural gems. If you’re looking for a place that blends comfort, charm, quiet, and unbeatable location, the Morgan Suite at Casa Tierra Cuenca is an outstanding choice. When we landed at Cuenca airport to continue our long winter journey of 2015 and 2016, Craig was there to meet and greet us. He squired us to his fine digs in the heart of El Centro, where we were welcomed by his wife Ileana with goblets of cold wine and lively conversation.
That was the beginning of a month long stay in one of their brand new, fully equipped, and beautifully decorated suites. A big bonus for us weary pilgrims was the very comfortable queen sized bed in a very quiet back room. Our time there was filled with exploring this great city. After only a few paces we were at the many steps down to the river Tomebamba with its wonderful riverside garden walkways and Madre Park across the bridge. There are many easy strolls through the Colonial Center to Parque Calderon and the Cathedral, with dozens of cafes and shops along the way. But, before you head out, consider a cuppa the ‘best coffee in Cuenca’ at the Café de Nucallacta, which is right there in the Casa Tierra complex.
We very highly recommend Casa Tierra Cuenca to anyone considering a short or long stay. For comfort, value, location, and super hosting, you can’t do better. We ‘guarantee’ it! Happy Trails to all you world pilgrims!

We stayed here for 2 wonderful weeks. Centrally located, you can walk to many of Cuenca’s historic sites. It has been totally renovated with the modern conveniences, while keeping the authentic old world charm. Truly a great place to stay with wonderful people. This place is truly an exceptional place to stay for a longer term. It is fully renovated and offers modern high quality convieniences while still being charming with an old world style. It has a great location in the el centro historic centre. You can walk to all the attractions of the city. There is a cute coffee shop in the building which serves some of the best coffee I´ve had in Ecuador.
